You need to insert a micro SD card while recording. If you wish to include video footage that shows the rover’s exterior, then you may attach an external camera at the rear of the rover near the wing. You may use mini camera such as GoPro, Insta360 or any lightweight portable camera.

What is the size of the cargo area?

How to trigger what file to play?

You can trigger which file to play or display via the switches on the radio transmitter. The 3-way switch on the transmitter has been programmed to display a pair of image and audio file at once. For example, when the 3-way switch is set to the up position, it will display image1.jpg and play audio1.mp3, while the down position triggers image2.jpg and audio2.mp3

What is the actual maximum range?

The specified maximum range is 1 km (0.6 miles) which is limited by the ELRS radio transmitter. However, the actual range that you can remotely operate the rover depends on your line of sight (LOS) and your elevation relative to the rover. The better the line of sight and the higher you are, the better is your video reception and radio transmission.

How to get the optimum range for the video signal?

In order to get the best range from the rover, you’re recommended to have a clear line of sight of the rover without much distraction. This will provide the best video reception. Obstacles like trees, bushes, vehicles or pedestrians can block the video signal. Another neat trick is to be at an elevated position compared to the rover. For example, if your rover is moving on the ground level, you may remotely control it from one or more levels higher. And remember to set the video transmitter to its max output power.

Technical

Can I use my own radio transmitter?

Yes, as long that your transmitter supports ELRS and EdgeTX such as Radiomaster TX16S, Pocket, Boxer, Jumper T15 and T20.

Why must you use ELRS radio protocol?

Because ELRS offers the longest range compared to other protocols such as FrSky, Spektrum, and Futaba.

Can I use my own FPV goggles?

Yes, as long that your pair of goggles support standard 5.8 GHz analog video signal. Do note that it is recommended to have a pair of FPV goggles that could capture the live audio from the rover.

What protocol does the rover support?

The rover only accepts ELRS (ExpressLRS) protocol due to its long-range capability. Unlike radio-controlled aerial vehicles, the radio transmission range is shorter when the vehicle is on the ground.

How many channels are available in the radio receiver?

The radio receiver supports up to seven channels. All these channels are used by the rover.

Does this rover support DJI or other digital FPV systems?

Sorry but no. It only supports the standard analog FPV system due to its longer range. Unlike radio-controlled aerial vehicles, the video transmission range is shorter when the vehicle is on the ground. However, the FPV camera does come with a 4K DVR which records in high quality digital format. This means you get analog video stream while driving while your recorded footage is in high quality digital format.
